Richard L. Vanore, Jr. Named President of Koury
Koury Corporation has named Richard L. Vanore, Jr. as President of the company, succeeding Steve Showfety who recently announced his retirement. Mr. Vanore is a veteran of the company having served in various capacities over the past 27 years, most recently as Vice President of Construction and Facilities. He has had a leading role with Koury’s development and renovation activities during his tenure. In particular, Mr. Vanore has been instrumental in recent additions to the Grandover Development, including Grandover Village Shopping Center, home to the Greensboro area’s first Publix Supermarket scheduled to open later this year, as well as the neighboring 312-unit Millis and Main and 230-unit 8 West Apartment Communities. In a statement, Mr. Vanore commented that he is honored to serve this family-owned company as President and looks forward to working with a strong team of professionals, as well as the Koury family, to continue the company’s tradition of providing Guilford County with top-quality facilities in which to meet, shop, live, work, play and stay.
Mr. Vanore and his wife Ashley are proud parents to five children. A Greensboro native, Vanore graduated with a BS Degree in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is licensed with both the North Carolina Board of General Contractors and the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. He has held board positions with various organizations, most recently with TREBIC and the North Carolina Wildlife Habitat Foundation.
