Street Art Festival To Benefit the Greensboro Children’s Museum at The Village at North Elm


Greensboro, NC – The Village at North Elm proudly presents a “Festival in the Village” to benefit the Greensboro Children’s Museum. The Festival will be held on Saturday, June 7th from 10am to 6pm on Main Street. The public is invited to join us for a fun filled day of live music, games, crafts, food & beverages appealing to children and families.

Entrance fee is $5.00 per person and includes live entertainment, caricature portraits, a moon walk, a special art activity by the Greensboro Children’s Museum, Looney Lanny and lots more!

A sidewalk chalk contest with cash prizes will take place from 8:30am until 10:30am and is open to kids, teens & adults. The contest is sponsored by Marshall Art Gallery & AMC Funding Group.

Main Street will be lined with local artists, sidewalk sales by the Village Merchants, and live music by the popular children’s band, Big Bang Boom – http://www.chuckfolds.com/bigbangboom.html

Later in the afternoon more entertainment featuring Vaughan Penn and her band – www.VaughanPenn.com. Vaughan is from North Carolina and has spent many years in Nashville and Los Angeles cultivating her songwriting and promoting it to film and television. Her songs have been featured on Grey’s Anatomy, MTV’s Laguna Beach, The Hills and Newport Harbor. She loves coming home to perform with friends and family.

Café tables will be in front of the stage for guests to enjoy music while dining on food and refreshments available for purchase from the Village restaurants & cafes. Panera Bread will have bag lunches for sale on the Street and Mediterraneo, the newest restaurant at the Village, will offer samples from their menu. The Chop House Grille will open its patio and bar area at Noon for this special occasion. Cool off with a scoop of your favorite flavor from Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.
