RICHARD VANORE

President & CEO

Richard Vanore was named President of Koury Corporation on September 1, 2019.   Richard has been with Koury since 1992, and has served in various capacities in Koury’s Apartment and Residential Construction divisions before working his way up to lead Koury’s Construction Department in 2010.  He has been responsible for all of Koury’s Development and Construction related activities and for oversight of the company’s Facilities Management Operations. As company President, he will continue the company’s tradition of providing Guilford County with top-quality facilities in which to meet, shop, live, work, play and stay. 

Richard holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He is an active board member with the Piedmont Triad Partnership, TREBIC (Triad Real Estate and Building Industry Coalition), the Greensboro Sports Foundation, the Greensboro Police Foundation, the Barnabas Network and the N.C. Wildlife Habitat Foundation. Richard is licensed with both the North Carolina Board of General Contractors and the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.

KELLY HARRILL

Executive Vice President-Hospitality

Kelly Harrill has been with Koury Corporation since 1994 and served as the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel’s Director of Sales before becoming the General Manager of the Grandover Resort in 2018.  Kelly’s role as General Manager takes on the responsibility of the overall operation of the Grandover Resort including the recent rebranding and renovation to the property. Kelly also serves as VP of Hospitality which assists in the overall operations of Koury’s two other hotels: the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel & Koury Convention Center and Holiday Inn Greensboro Coliseum.

A native of Greensboro, Kelly is a US Navy Veteran, attended Guilford College and has been active in many local boards and civic organizations.  Kelly is also a past President of Gate City Rotary, a past Chairman of NC Wildlife Habitat Foundation,  and an active Board member of the Greensboro Area Conventions and Visitors Bureau, Greensboro Technical and Community College, the Salvation Army, and the Carolina Theater as well as Elder of First Presbyterian Church, Greensboro.

GORDON CRAIG

Vice President And Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Craig joined Koury Corporation in 2006 and currently serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  He is responsible for the company’s capital forecasting, accounting, tax, insurance and financing functions.  Prior to joining Koury, Gordon worked in various accounting, asset management and capital markets positions with Wachovia Securities, Tishman Speyer Properties, Faison Enterprises and others.

Gordon holds a B.S. in Financial Management from Clemson University and a Master of Science in Real Estate from New York University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in North Carolina, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

MIKE LONGMORE

Senior Vice President-Commercial Real Estate

Mr. Longmore joined Koury Corporation in September, 2019 as SVP Commercial Real Estate. A 29-year veteran of the shopping center industry, Longmore has overall responsibility for the Company’s 2+ million square foot retail, office and industrial portfolio. For the last 12 years he worked for the global real estate firm, JLL, where as Executive Vice President he focused on Capital Markets, Leasing, Property Management and Marketing for the national retail platform, based out of their Charlotte, NC office.Prior to joining JLL he was Vice President-Leasing Director for the Chicago based REIT, Inland, with responsibility for leasing over 130 retail centers totaling over 18 million square feet in 17 states.

Longmore is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a BS in Business and Public Administration focusing on Real Estate Finance and Marketing.  He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and The Urban Land Institute. He holds real estate Broker’s licenses in North and South Carolina and Virginia, and industry designations as Certified Retail Property Executive (CRX) and Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM).

DOUG HEBERLE

Vice President And General Counsel

Doug Heberle joined Koury Corporation in June of 2006 as legal counsel. He is currently responsible for the management of all of the legal affairs of Koury Corporation and its affiliates. Prior to his employment with Koury, Mr. Heberle worked in private practice with the law firm of Stern & Klepfer where he concentrated on real estate and for Downtown Greensboro, Inc. as Vice President of Economic Development. As Vice President of Economic Development, Mr. Heberle was integral in the revitalization of downtown Greensboro, including important roles in the development of Center City Park and the Greensboro Grasshopper’s stadium. He was a four time member of the Executive Committee of the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic (now Wyndham) and is a past President of the Board of Directors of the Community Theater of Greensboro.

 

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Heberle is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with bachelor’s degrees in English and Communications. After a short stint in Warsaw, Poland as a teacher, he earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May of 1997 and has lived in Greensboro since September of 1997. Mr. Heberle is a member of the North Carolina Bar and the City of Greensboro Bar Association.

BRIAN HECKE

Vice President-Construction Division

Brian Hecke joined Koury Corporation’s Construction team in November 2020 and was named Vice President of the Construction Division in November 2022.  He has served in the construction industry for over 25 years in various roles, such as pre-construction, project management, and project executive positions. There are a plethora of projects that Brian has lead in various sectors including, government, retail, multi-family, office, educational, religious, hospitality and industrial sectors. Brian leads the construction division with full responsibility for all aspects of new construction, tenant improvements, and renovations of existing facilities.

Brian is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology with an emphasis in construction. He is also licensed with the North Carolina Board of General Contractors.
